Auto train experiences with kids?

Just remembered they have the auto train from FL to VA which I believe is an overnight trip but would significantly cut down the driving time for us. Has anyone had a recent experience? Are the seats comfortable? Have 2 kids 6 and 2, will they love it or hate it?

Any advice would be appreciated.

We did it with are 2 kids 11 and 5 at the time, they loved it. When we went Amtrak tried to put family in the same cars. I think in less then 10 minutes my 2 had made some friends that they played with. The Coach seats are large and have a lots of leg room. The had movies in the lounge car you can watch. The food wasn't bad either. We've done the Amtrak Auto Train 3 time since.

my recommendation would be to get the lower level seats.

The ticket people only put two families in our LL car and us and the other family had tons of room to spread out, play games, and recline seats. It was really quite because noone can walk through your car on this level and was like having a private compartment while still enjoying coach prices.

With a LL car you will be on the same level as the bathrooms which makes things easier with little ones.

I would highly recommend bringing a dvd player because the movie showing on the train isn't always a "childrens" movie. The families without one were really jealous when we got to watch Nemo while they didn't have any kid features to watch.
