Auto Slash

I have only used them a couple of times, when they found a lower Alamo rate than my usual Costco booking. They linked to Costco (so I still had the free second driver) and I had an Alamo confirmation number so I could do online check-in and skip-the-counter as usual. No problems at all, essentially the same as when I book Alamo through Costco.

No experience in cancelling a reservation, but I assume I could have done so since I had the Alamo confirmation number.

AutoSlash is fantastic. If the rental company jacks you around, AutoSlash will make it right. You will only pay the price on your confirmation. Once you get your quote, you complete through Priceline, which gives you the confirmation number from the company as well. I've cancelled and rebooked both to save money and because my trip was cancelled and never had a problem. I actually used them yesterday to book a car for Dallas in Apr. I am going to go right now to put an alert on it for that rental.

Ever since learning about autoslash a couple of years ago I’ve used them to book multiple car rentals. Have found some great deals and saved so much time hunting for the elusive discount code that will save me money. Easy to book. Easy to cancel and book new when the price drops. (Just be sure to book the Pay Later option if you want the flexibility to cancel) Never had any problems at pickup.

I usually rent through carrentalsavers.com but autoslash just found a much better rate for me. I hesitated a bit as the reservation seems to be through Priceline, but I have both a PL reservation number and a Hertz reservation number. I am a tad apprehensive about this as it appears to be 3rd party, but I guess that's the same as CarRentalSavers, as I get a CRS confirmation number AND a car agency confirmation number- yes?

It is third party, and so was how you were doing it before. When booking third party for anything it is important to trust the the third party you are booking with. Regardless of whether it is air, hotel or rental car if something goes wrong you will be dealing with the third party. AutoSlash has made good out of their own pocket changes made to reservations by the car rental companies.

Thanks, this is what I was thinking/hoping. I hesitate to deal with third party transactions, as I know it can be a HUGE pain with hotel reservations. However, I've dealt with CRS for a long time, and it seems as Autoslash is reliable, so I'm going with it. Car prices are OUTRAGEOUS at the moment, at least for our trip next month!

Car rental prices have been very high for the last year. I rent usually 2-3 times a year and since about May it's been crazy. Fleets were cut, and now there is not supply for the demand that is coming back.
