Auto Insurance Question - any experience

buying auto insurance from an on-line company called "e-insurance." Car insurance is so much more expensive here in Florid than it was in NH. We are with GEICO now and the e-insurance quote is about $20 per month cheaper. With the market the way it is every little bit helps. Thanks very much.

As a CSR at an insurance agency.......wouldn't you rather have someone you can pick up the phone & speak to?

I do ALOT of stuff via the web....but I think I will stick with a local agent when it comes to car & house insurance. Someone who's been IN insurance for decades! Not just in business today.

Also be careful. Many insurance CARRIERS ratings have slipped since 9/11. Make sure they are quoting you in an A rated company. Anything B rated or less may NOT have the financial backing to pay claims in a catostrophic event (hurricanes.......).

Ditto. Make sure it is at LEAST an A rated company. Then check with your state insurance department for the complaint ratio. A lot of small companies do not have their own claim departments and contract the field work part out. Avoid those at all costs.

We lost a lot of customers to online insurance companies a few years ago. Most of the customers have come back, at least the ones we wanted back. The others (with histories) we told "sorry".
