Does anyone know or know where I can find Indiana Auto Insurance laws? I used Google but have only found that laws that say you have to auto insurance on your vehicle in Indiana. What I specifically need to know is if it is an Indiana State Law that all autos in a household must carry the same liability limits.

I have a old van that we are selling and a 97 pickup truck that I primarily use. I do not want as much insurance on the van since I will no longer be driving it. But was told all autos have to carry the same limits.

no, we have had cars that we just had pl/pd coverage on at the same time we had full coverage on other cars. I am not sure if thats what you wanted to know....

dont know about there but here in arkansas as long as you have the minimum you can have different limits,, now if fall vehicles are listed under the same policy, some still do this, then yeah the same limits would apply,, i know we have different limits and deductibles on weach of our three,,

When we lived in Indiana we didn't have the same liabilty on our two cars.

I'm not sure why you would want different liability coverage on different cars that you own. No matter who is driving a car when it is involved in an accident, you are liable for the damages. When our kids started driving we increased the liability we carried and we were required by the insurance company to increase it on all the cars we own, not just the one they drive.

I can see dropping the coverage that covers the vehicle itself if it is not worth much. That your insurance company shouldn't have a problem with.
