We are taking our autistic son with us who can't stand wild rides, who can't stand in line for more that 10 minutes, what are we going to do with him and our other sons 15 & 11 who like rides?

You could probably take advantage of the "parent swap" where one parent waits in line (with the other two kids) and rides, and then when the first parent is finished riding, the second parent rides. They usually have the second parent enter through an alternate enterance to ride.

You might want to post this on the Disabilities Board. Many people over there have probably dealt with the same situation. They can tell you all about the GAC (Guest Assistance Card) and how it can help make your family's visit easier.

You can go to customer relations in any park and get a disability pass. You see people with them around their neck or in wheelchairs. You get to go in the wheelchair line. Some rides don't have them (Buzz for example). I have a medical condition and I was able to get one. They did mention autistic children as being able to get this.

I agree: click on the DISAbilities Board, there are lots of people there who can answer your questions.

You never know if your son will hate rides that have a Disney "twist", maybe you will be surprised. We have taken our 20 year old autistic son to WDW 14 times, and it's hard for us to think that he would enjoy any other vacation. The rides at WDW aren't too wild, with the exception of a few roller coasters, so there will a lot he will enjoy.

Read up on how to get and use a GAC,Guest Assistance Card-- it is a life-saver for us. Also get familiar with FastPasses, because this is how the rest of your family can navigate WDW without your autistic son.

I hope you are pleasantly surprised and you have a great trip.
