Does anyone know if there is anyplace place in Disney that makes authentic Pina Colodas like the ones I had in the authentic caribbean (not CBR lol). A real Pina Coloda should actually be thick with chopped pineapple, coco goya and dark rum...yum!

Well, we are not in WDW, or NJ.... But, my husband could make you a mean authentic-type Pina Colada.

He has it down pat!

Pineapple Chunks
Ice Cream (Walmart Great Value All Natural is excellent, no Modified Corn Syrup!)
Ice
Maybe some Cream of Coconut
Coconut Rum ( Cruzan! )

Blend,
enjoy!

I had no idea that pina coladas were supposed to have *chunks* of pineapple or ice cream in them! I don't drink them, because I don't like pineapple in large doses (a sprinkle of pineapple juice in a mixed drink is okay) or rum. But I had no idea how they were actually supposed to be made. I learned something new today! That'll come in handy if I decide to go to bartending school. :)

Its how I had them as a kid in the Caribbean, without the rum of course. It was cut up pineapple in the blender, with coconut cream. Now all I've had anywhereis basically a pineapple coconut Slurppy with rum. My parents owned a travel agency in the 70s and we went on many trips to many islands and thats how I remember them.

It may not be "authentic" but i follow the recipe on the back of the Cream of Coconut container.

2 ounces Coco Lopez ® Cream of Coconut
2 Ounces pineapple juice
1½ ounces Good Light Rum
1 cup of ice

Mix in blender until smooth. Makes 1 Pina Colada.

I usually also add an ounce of Coconut rum to the above recipe. :thumbsup2

My recipe:

LOTS of Malibu
1 can of frozen pina colada mix (Walmart or Winn Dixie)
ice

Blend well and add straw.:thumbsup2

Piglet, been there done that with the recipe from the package...
Try our recipe above... MUCH better!!!! :woohoo:

Stashbin... also been there done that using Malibu when we couldn't get the Cruzan once...
Try the Cruzan Coconut Rum... MUCH better!!!! :woohoo:
