Hello, fellow Australian Disney fans!

I'm heading to Disneyland in Jan 2020 for 6 days, and was researching park tickets, and have priced that the Flight Centre 10-day park hopper ticket is cheaper than purchasing a 5+1 day park ticket.
I have never used the Flight Centre tickets before and was wondering if anyone had, and they were willing to share their experience using them!

Also, they do not come with Maxpass. I haven't been to Disneyland since they have introduced Maxpass, but after being spoilt with WDW's mobile fastpass system, I feel like it's something I would prefer. Does anyone know if you are able to add Maxpass to the ticket at a ticket window once arriving at Disneyland (obviously for the additional $15pp a day fee).

Hopefully you guys can help me out!
Many thanks :)

Hi, I haven't used Flight Centre (I'm not a fan of them really) but have purchased the 10day ticket a few times and read lots of info from people who've purchased the passes from various places, including F.C.
It is usually (always I think, just not 100% sure on that) issued as a Qantas travel voucher - whether you buy from F.C. or elsewhere.
You take it to the ticket booths, or you are able to exchange it when you check in if you are staying at one of the 3 onsite Disney hotels, and they will give you the 10 day ticket which includes 1 magic morning entry.
I think it's only the lead person / purchaser that needs ID but maybe have it for all just in case?
I previously bought mine from, used to be called My Personal Travel Planner - now they've combined companies and it is Highlands Travel and you can purchase with them online thru try booking which I've done with no issues.
Otherwise, if you're happier - just go through F.C.
Unfortunately they used to be a lot better value - I paid $450 when I last got it in 2016.
Currently, Highlands has it for $675 AUD, only a month ago someone quoted it as just under $600 with them so it's had a huge jump even in the last month. Of course our $$ is really hurting us price wise at the moment.
If you do look at them just enquire about the use by date for the tickets. The info on their website is out of date. They are quick to respond to email questions in my experience.
Same with F.C. - check what price they've got at the moment and also check the expiry date for the tickets. I would think both would have the expiry through till Jan 2021 but you definitely would want to check.

Re: Maxpass - just add it day by day. It's very quick. We were there for 8 days but probably only got MP on 4 or 5 of the days. A couple of days we had a later start or went in for the Halloween party and felt we didn't need it every day. That's the benefit of buying if day by day. You might decide you don't need it every day so you've got choices available to you which is good : )

Hope that helps a bit : )

Thanks for your help! I may be incorrect, but you've used F.C. and Highlands travel? Which did you prefer? Which was easier? Which would you recommend? I've only ever used the Disneyland website directly, but it's cheaper for us to get a 10-day.

Hey,
sorry, I was unclear. I've NOT used Flight Centre only Highlands. I know others have though. I live in the country and am a fan of being able to do whatever I can online. Just google Highlands Travel and then go in to the Disney tab at the top and you can go in to there to buy tickets which is thru try booking. DEFINITELY contact them first though and check the expiry date on the current tickets.
What price are you getting from F.C. at the moment - if they're cheaper then I'd go with them.
I had no problems at all buying online with Highlands (was My Personal Travel Planner) and the voucher was emailed to me.
I only bought direct from Disney for the first time for this last trip we just went on in July. I just wanted it to be super easy - not that I've had trouble previously at all.
We only needed a 3day hopper and I bought them a year out before the Jan price rise and when MP was $10/day. That was before other places like LMT club were able to sell you the MP on purchase.
They cost me $500 AUD each for the 3day hopper with MP, ouch! : )
So the 10day is not too bad in value compared to that and as you say, it's still cheaper than buying a 5day + 1 ticket.

I’ve bought the 10 day voucher from Flight Centre before. It was straightforward. We exchanged the voucher for our tickets at our Disney hotel and it was just like a 5 day hopper but for 10 days.

It was great value, no fuss, and I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Did you just exchange it at the ticket counter at your hotel?

Buying a 5-day hopper, without maxpass, is cheaper through the Disneyland website, even after conversion. It's when you want more than 5 days it becomes cheaper buying the 10-day passes.

I did want longer than 5 days. We are staying at the GCH for a week.

Yes, to get our actual park tickets we just exchanged the voucher at the hotel. Process-wise it was just like buying regular tickets but it was prepaid with the voucher, and we got 10 days instead of 5.

You could only exchange it at the hotel if you are at one of the three Disney hotels - DLH, GCH & PPH. Off-site hotels won't be able to do it but it is a pretty easy process at the ticket booths. If you are arriving the night before you can always go and exchange it then.

Sorry about that Version 6 - what a bummer : (

I've had the 10 day tickets a few times. They should be available through FC or any travel agent. I think they're issued through Qantas and Air New Zealand. We've just exchanged our voucher at the ticket booth for 10 day park hopper tickets.
Just a hint, if you haven't booked your flights etc yet, do check out Flight Centre. We paid $99 pp for the Captains Premium Package which gives us $150 each off land activities (incl Disneyland tickets), Price Drop Protection and a few other things. I've booked with them before and haven't had any problems.

I've booked my flights. I've never used a travel agent service, which is why I'm scared about using FC to buy these tickets, but they're such a good price deal, and people seem to have used them without difficulty so I might use them for our Jan trip.

I've not bought it before, but have researched it. Check the Qantas Holidays price (brochure here) and make sure you don't pay more than that.

Depending on where you are staying and the discounts they give, as well as how much you plan to spend on food and merchandise, it may be worthwhile having one person in your group get an Annual Pass. We went a few years ago for an extended trip and it was the better option (though the dollar has gotten worse and AP prices have gone up since then).
