You are Still allowed to Walk around the base of the mountain. Length 10.6 Km

Walk Climb Trail to the top of the 384 meter high mountain closed on Friday 25th October 2019

Interesting. ABD requested guests not climb on Uluru as it's seen as disrespectful to the locals that hold Uluru as a sacred site.

Most tour companies didn't take people up there as far as I know. When we were there, the guides from our resort that took us, told us if we wanted to do it, we had to arrange to come back on our own.
