Australia anyone

:scared1: WOW, what a steal. I might be going away for my birthday in august, too bad that the deals are only up to Jun 30th. Maybe I'll have to take a trip for my birthday in June:rolleyes1

Wow that's cheap!! When I went the tickets were closer to USD$1300 in coach, and I thought I was getting a good deal!

When I went the tickets were closer to USD$1300 in coach,

Note these prices do not include US/foreign taxes/fees. I did a dummy booking between LA and Sydney choosing the lowest cost options each way and the total cost with these fees added was $1334.45. Not such a great deal.

Last summer when Delta entered the LAX-SYD market there was heavy competition. You could get a roundtrip LAX-SYD ticket for $585 roundtrip including all taxes and fees!!

WOW, that's great. Even for me living on the east coast, it would only cost another $400 to get to LA and back so that's less then $1000!!!

Our family went last May/June, using the "Aussie Air Pass" which is also being offered in the current promotion. I think it is an even better deal.

The Aussie Air Pass includes (for a slightly higher price) three domestic flights, and you do not have to return from the same city you fly into. (Those three domestic Australia flights would be about $800 U.S. if you bought them individually)

We went to from the U.S. (Chicago) to Sydney, to Cairns (Great Barrier Reef, we actually stayed in Port Douglas), to Alice Springs (The Outback, where we also did a 3 day ground tour to Wilderness Canyon and Ayers Rock) to Brisbane, and back to Chicago.

It was the trip of a lifetime that I have always wanted to do. (The only thing I would do differently is I would probably go to Melbourne for the last leg of the Australian part of the trip, rather than Brisbane.)

I just checked the price today for the above itinerary (ending the Australian part in Melbourne) and it was a little over $1,600 (which includes the $280 add-on for the Chicago to/from LA part of the trip)

Note to disneylovin24: The East coast add-ons are $200 (select fights to/from JFK), $300 Newark or other JFK, $360 Boston, Orlando, or Miami, and $400 Washington

:confused3 We can fly that cheap from Australia to the US on Qantas :rotfl:!

So those fares are going from the US return but they are not the same from Australia to US return its more expensive for us to fly the same route but leaving and returning the other way round!
