2. why you picked DCL

Having on;y cruised once before, on DCL we thought we'd stick to what we know (and love ) We all thought so much of our previous cruise, Western Caribbean in Sept 2012 that we couldn't wait to try again on the beautiful Fantasy :boat:

We used an online agency to book our cruise, they sent us a quote, we agreed and deposit was paid.
The upside of using this particular agency was the onboard credit (OBC) which we put towards our small balance owing when we got off the ship (such a sad moment)
We drove to port and will do so again, checked our hire car back in and got a shuttle to port from there.
BYO alcohol, but carry it in hand luggage ;)

Pretty sure we only saw half of the ship, will try harder next time to give a better review

Oh how I wish I could join this thread.
I think it will be quite a few years before I do DCL again, but it's high on my wishlist.
I'm already secretly planning a DCL Alaska cruise for my (ahem) 40th in about 3 years time. Sshh, don't tell DH. :rotfl:

If I have any tips, it's Palo (brunch and dinner), a Mixology class, a floating mat rental at Castaway Cay, and did I mention Palo.

Have a great cruise everyone!

have sailed magic/wonder so really looking forward to the newer boat and trying out concierge and double dipping at castaway cay !

I will get a cabana!!!!!!pirate:

You know me Meme, I'm a RCCL gal all the way :)

Although, due to no RCCL option, I'm venturing over to NCL in January in the Eastern Med :scared1:

TR needed.....I have heard awesome things re NCL.....pirate:

Splurge and dine at Remy's for a fantastic experience. If you can indulge, include the wine pairing. Also, save your appetite for Remy's otherwise you will not appreciate the whole experience. :thumbsup2

Going on our first cruise this year!

DCL Fantasy Oct 18 - 25, Eastern Caribbean itinerary.

We chose DCL because rather than wanting to try cruising we wanted to add to our Disney vacation:) We can't wait, the girls are sure to love the kids club and I'm hoping for a slow pace and to be able to see every movie playing.

This is our first ever cruise
Going DCL Bahamas 4 night cruise on 14th September
I just really liked the ship and the staterooms when I did some research and I figured their resorts and cast members are so wonderful that their cruises would be just as great.
I must admit I am a bit terrified, I get motion sickness very easily and also bad sea sickness, I do take medication but it puts me to sleep. So many ppl have told me that they never get sick on a cruise so I have my fingers crossed I will be ok as I dont want to sleep the cruise away.

My children have no idea that we are going on the cruise, it will be a surprise that they will discover with maps and a treasure chest the morning we embark , we have told them that we will be changing resorts that day so they will be packed and ready to leave without any clue of what is really happening.

I am already looking at a new zealand cruise next year and an alaskan cruises for 2 years time so I really do hope I dont get sick.

Have you ever been to NZ before? I only ask because the best parts of NZ simply can't be seen on a cruise.

I love cruising, it's my favourite way to travel, but when it comes to NZ, there is no better way to see it than to drive.

If you do decide to come here next year (and I hope you do) sing out if you need help with an itinerary. I'm super proud of this country and get quite passionate when it comes to helping people decide on the most beautiful places to visit. :)

That's a fantastic room. Thanks for sharing.

I loved the grand piano. Did you try it out?
I wonder how they got it in the room. Perhaps they got a crane or something.....;)

like this one.....

yep the piano was used often during gatherings, sail away parties and just to annoy the neighbors....if i left our door open they could hear it down the end of the LOOOONNNGGGGGG corridor...

was a fantastic time, we all had major fun....

open bar in concierge lounge 5-10 pm daily.....need i add more :) smirk :wave2:

Yeah. I figured you would need a crane to get that grand somewhere.

What a shame I get seasick. I would have been more than happy to be the musician and to organise the sing-a-longs. I do a mean chopsticks and can sing off-key with the best of them.......down that looooooong corridor.

mate it played by itself.....good times.....

volume was loud, really loud and ear drum splitting loud...

:cheer2::cheer2:

really smooth seas all the 12 days.....didnt feel like being on a boat at all.

It was a self-playing, automagic piano?

More. drinks. :thumbsup2 (and bad singing!!)

Thanks Wanderlust, New Zealand is high on the bucket list of places to go. I think the idea is to do a cruise but then also do another trip driving around and spending a lot more time there on another holiday.
