Aussie Disneyland Planners come on in and lets plan together :)

I got my entertainment card in the mail today, all set for the Ent rates at Hojo :thumbsup2

I am pretty sure I have read in the past that Hojo's will honour the Australian Entertainment card as well, you just need to ask.

You can buy these books from Make a Wish foundation :thumbsup2

Quick question about laptops for those who have taken them to the US before. A friend of mine told me yesterday that when you go through customs and all domestic flights in the US that you have to take the battery out of your laptop. Is that true?

I didn't even know you could take a battery out of a laptop. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Update - I have just looked at the bottom of my laptop and the battery detaches easily. I'm not going to stress about this :rotfl2:. You know me, stressing about every little detail :rotfl:

I stress too.

Last year we only had to take the laptop out of the bag and place it in a separate tray. It went through by itself. Same applies for larger electronic items. Most cameras, ipods, DSs etc will be ok. DH also had his CPAP machine which is used for breathing at night, swapped and viewed separatly - standard procedure.

They also have the back-scatter machines in a lot of airports, so if you need to get patted down or they decide to, you have the option for the machine, should be quick, or a pat down.

I've never had to take the battery out, but they will require you to have the laptop out of the case and available for inspection. They may even ask you to turn it on. so make sure your battery is fully charged. (This started after Sept 11.) I don't think I've had to turn it on recently but you will have to have it out of the case to send through the xray.

But what if your battery has died prior to reaching the search area?

45 sleeps here :banana::banana::banana:

I really am - i'm hoping to have a better play today or in the weekend. I'm wanting to learn more about getting nice pics before I leave :)

These are the ones I took yesterday

This is my big girl - so those travelling at the same time as us can keep an eye out for her - her red hair makes it easy for her to be spotted

Gorgeous pics Flea. I took my 50mm 1.4 last year. You can see my pics here if you want.

Some were taken with the kit lens though.

Hi everyone. Nice photos. I wish I had the patience to learn to use a manual camera. Will have to stick to our point and shoot.

I don't think the family rooms are on the discount card for HOJO's, but you get 20% off if you mention DISBOARDS.

WE are going in less than a week now :woohoo:, and hope to pack this weekend. I have been looking at all these unbelievable pancake houses, ice cream shops, cafes etc in LA, there is no way I can even fit them in. I will have to have 5 or 6 meals a day

There is just so much choice in the US it is crazy. No wonder we are all obsessed with going there.

ALso plan to go to COSTCO. I got my membership in melbourne and it applies worldwide. It will be very interesting.

on the topic of bugs, we noticed that there were no flies or bugs nearly everywhere in the US. not in florida, anywhere. it was really weird. we even had picnics where in Australia we would be eaten alive by flies but nothing !

Seeing we are on the topic of photos. Here is a link to my site with pics from our USA trip last year, they are just a small sample.

Not much DL there sorry. The castle is from MK at WDW.

I took the SLR last time but this time it's just the point and shoot, simply because we aren't going anywhere new and I got the shots I wanted last time.

This time we just wanted to travel light.

OMG I just watched Disneyland on Getaway and was almost crying. I can't believe that we are going to go there - only 5.5 weeks to go ;)

Actually the whole episode of Getaway is interesting. It might give me some more ideas of places to go/things to do, even though we have no spare days :lmao:

Boy do I know what you mean. That's the bonus of being pregnant, I'm SUPPOSED to get fat :banana:

Still watching getaway, had it taped. Except for Catriona who annoys the hell out of me, the show was good. The kids are even more excited knowing we will be there next week.

My daughter wants to go the the fashionola shop where the girls make their own clothing.

When is Disneyland on in the show. Early or late? They're up to Santa Monica now.
