Aussie Disneyland Planners come on in and lets plan together :)

Yep gotta love the pointy end.

Doesn't anyone want to take up my offer of the Disneyland maps??? I have three from last year that I am happy to post to anyone that hasn't been to Disneyland before. Just PM me with your details.

I would have loved to take up your offer but I only posted a few weeks ago asking if anyone could pick me up a couple of maps while they were in DL. A lovely member from America kindly picked me a map of both DL & DCA and sent them to me here in Australia :)

It's so exciting looking over the maps and planning what we are going to do and what we will see :)

OK, I have to ask.....can I be an unofficial aussie (ozzie) ?

I really love your country, I have been lucky enough to do two separate trips. My DH I think has done 8 different trips? His brother, moved there in the 70's , never left and is now a citizen.

Our first trip (my DD was 8) we spent a week in Sydney, a split week in Cairns/Port Douglas, and a week with family in Brisbane.

Our second trip (DD 16) we spent a week in Sydney, a week in Cairns, a week in Brisbane, and a week in Melbourne.

will it help my case that I am an official Brisbane bridge climber?

how about my DH and his DB being tied for the Morton Island sand surfer record of the day
of course in the intrest of full disclosure we did not always follow local ordinances.......
Oh, and like my beer ice cold and often!

so please.....how bout it?

Ta!

Hi Judy and welcome! :yay:

I live in Brisbane (well, the outskirts). I regulalry drive across the Storey Bridge - never climbed it though, so you're one up on me, lol.

Are you planning any more trips down here in the near future?

I would just absolutely love one of those maps. I did just try to PM you but I haven't hit my count of 10 posts yet, hehe. I might have to just quickly randomly post. Please put me down and I will PM later when I have my counts up.

I only have tonight and tomorrow to get organised, We're leaving early Thursday morning. I still have spots left, If anyone wants a postcard please pm me.:cutie:

I would love that although it will be a long time until we head on our trip (September/October 2010) to pay it forward, i'll pm you though and i'll leave it up to you, no big deal :)

No problem, there are lots of long term planners! And if the prices stay this low I think Aussies will continue to go on mass!:thumbsup2

Out of curiosity I recosted last year's trip, yep I recorded almost every $ spent, against a 70c dollar and $1000 return airfares compared to the 95c average I purchased at and the $7200 airfares with Qantas school holidays for the three of us.

The results...

A total of roughly $500 less if we took the trip tomorrow!!!

Hi everyone,

Welcome to all the new members!

Kylieh, thanks so much for the check my trip website. We are just in the process of booking our flights with our TA so as soon as we are issued our tickets, I will check to see if I can find out what seats we have been allocated :)

Oooh, I will check out that menu site too!

Marvel, oh wow! We might bump into each other :) Which building are you staying in? We have requested building 2 facing the garden pool.

gogo65, thanks for adding all that extra info to the list. It's going to help heaps!

emum, what was the weather like when you went last year? We'll be going at the end of September and I was wondering what type of clothes we should pack?

AussieDaisy, where did you get that fabric to make that Disney top in the last pic you posted? And do you have a pattern for it? I would love to make some Disney outfits for my trip :)

I am sooooo excited about our trip. We are using our Rudd money to pay for our accomodation at Hojo and the rest of of USA holiday including flights, accomodation & spending money is paid for through DF's prize money. So our holiday is FREE!!! Yay!!

Hi there guys!!

Welcome to all the new people on this thread!!! So glad I decide to start this thread, honestly I thought only a few people would respond but WOW what a response:banana:

Butterflykisses, I got the material from good old Spotlight, it was pretty cheap too. The pattern is a Simplicity A line top, I will see if I can find the pattern number for you. I have noticed on my last trip to Spotlight a few weeks ago that there is a good range of Disney fabrics but I am unsure whether to attempt to make another style of outfit as I got the feeling that 'Disney outfit wearing' is more of a fad in WDW rather than Disneyland. Although I was thinking about maybe doing a plain t-shirt with Disney material applique (sp?) on the front. I think I may have to have a peruse on the Disboutiquers site for some ideas:)

We booked two adults and one child on V Australia economy for $2900 travelling direct MEL - LAX return. Absolutely crazy not to take the deal! The dates are Dec 8 to Dec 22 - IMO the best time to go (decorations, crowds, lights etc).

A rep at Flight Centre told me December flights would be expensive $2000+ and gave me a quote of $2300pp........:rotfl2:

We have planned 6 Days WDW, 1 in Islands of Adventure, 3 in Disneyland and 1 in SFMM. The rest will be relaxing and shopping.

My past Disneyland trips have been for three days, I found that has been enough time to do and see everything (In the value season). One poster above said they were staying for six days, they will be able to tell you the number of pavers on main street.:), although the magic never ends, so why the hell not!

Nonsense!! I spent 6 days there last March, and could have easily spent 10! There's always something else to do!

We got an UNBELIEVABLE deal with V Australia....so good in fact that our Dad (who loves travelling, but has not been able to go on holiday due to having his own business for about 25 yrs!!) is coming with us!! Mum has decided to stay at home with the furbabies, as she is an armchair traveller and says she has done her travelling and would rather stay at home:( (good for the fur baby babysitting situation though....especially since my fur baby is nearly 11 and is diabetic, needing blood sugar testing and insulin injections:()
We got premium economy flights for 1600 plus tax (about 1900 all up per person!!!!) When we have flown PE with Air New Zealand the last few years, it has cost us over $4000 each!!! I noticed earlier in the year when I checked V Australia's PE prices that it was $4300!!!! I actually called them twice after I had booked to double check that the $1900 Premium econ price was right, and they said it was an introductory special!:banana::banana::banana: Very cool!
I hope they are as good as Air New Zealand:confused3
Aussiedaisy and I are sitting in row 11 H and K (2 seating configuration in premium econ) and Dad wanted a window seat so he is behind us in 12 K (see seatguru.com for seating).
Very excited to be taking dad to Disneyland.......hopefully he will come back a disney convert:laughing: Can't wait to take him on Pirates, indiana and soarin'. Hopefully none are down in November:cutie: :yay: So, I will have to think up a Dis board name for dad......think I'll call him Aussiedad:wizard:
So, now it is Aussiedaisy, Youngaussienurse and Aussiedad off to Disney YAY!!:dance3:

hi everyone, great stuff.

Czardas - glad to see you are back. funny you should mention vegas, we just booked the palazzo for our sept stay, glad to hear it is as good as it says. We also did the helicopter flight to grand canyon last year and it was fantastic, sounds like we book similar trips.

All you lucky ducks flying premium economy will have to fill us cattle classers in when you get back, I have wondered how big a difference it makes to the flight. Will be great for future reference.

welcome Judy, anyone can become an honorary Aussie, can I be a Honorary Yank??

I would love to know a bit more about Premium Economy. Other than the additional inches of leg room, is there something else that makes it worth spending more than the Economy. I haven't flown Internationally yet so sorry if I sound silly, hehe.

Marvel, when will you be in Vegas? We're going in September too. We'll be there the 14th - 21st.
