Hello,

My daughter is about to be granted a Make A Wish, and we have chosen Aulani. I see there is a fun kids place, but wondered how they handle children with special needs. Are they even allowed for drop off?

My girl has Rett Syndrome. This means she has limited mobility, is non-verbal, no purposeful use of hands, and is in diapers. I know one of their restrictions is that kids have to be potty trained. However, I wondered if any exceptions are made for our kids with disabilities.

Ideally, I'd love for my girl to be there, when her siblings are there, and have a one on one person. Is that possible?

Thanks,
Jen

Check the Disabilities board for people with specific information, but in general if a facility requires potty training, that's non-negotiable. They won't be set up for diaper changes. They also probably don't have the staffing at busy times for one on one. The good news is that there are family times. I would suggest taking your girl and enjoying the facility with her so you can be sure she gets as much access as is feasible.
