I love it. I still remember watching it for the first time with my Great Aunt (we actually called her Auntie) when I was a girl.

I think this is why I love "old" movies so much.....

What "old" movie is your favorite?

Not just one

Mildred Pierce

Meet Me In St. Louis(really anything with Judy G)

The Egg and I

Sing in the Rain
Meet me in St. Louis
Rio Grand
The Best Years of Life
The Quiet Man
Thin Man movies
One Touch of Venus

I have so many I can't think of all of them. I'm a TCM junkie!

The Egg and I

One of my ALL TIME favorites!:thumbsup2

I set my DVR for tommorrow morning..."SO BIG" with Jane Wyman is on!!!!!! That is rarely ever on TV and not on DVD, been waiting for over a year now.

So many wonderful old movies! I could never pick just one. . .
my favorites change with my mood.

I'm a sucker for classic musicals, though!

Sabrina
You Cant Take It With You
Casablanca
Some Like It Hot
Holiday Inn
The Nutty Professor
Doctor Zhivago

I really love anything and everything with Jerry Lewis and Dean Martin. So many more I can't think of right now. I am writing down the ones mentioned here, thanks! :)

oh so many

the Tammy movies(but the original is my favorite)
Arsenic and Old Lace
Auntie Mame(wasn't there a version with Lucille Ball?)
Seven Brides for Seven Brothers

Auntie Mame is one of my all-time oldie favorites. I really like this version with Rosalind Russell better than the one with Lucille Ball (Mame). I also like her in Gypsy and the Trouble with Angels with Haley Mills.

She is good isn't she.;)

I'm trying to talk our community theatre into doing Auntie Mame. I just ordered the DVD today!

Music Man
White Christmas
You Can't Take It With You
Odd Couple

I love old movies and live on TCM once DH goes to bed and I can have the remote! I can't say I have a favorite, but I love almost anything with Cary Grant in it.

I also love knowing the year. Depression era, pre war, during war... I love seeing the "propanda" in them or seeing what the public wanted to watch, to escape from their reality. The sociological elements of movies intrigues me so much.

I love Auntie Mame! I walked in the door, saw it on TV, and immediately sat down knowing full well that I wasn't getting up for a couple hours. OMG when Patrick was describing the "Fish Families" game, I about died. "Now what could be more wholesome than that?" And when Mame goes to Savannah to see Beau's family...:lmao:

When I had my daughters we had to have them call my sister "Auntie Alison" because of Auntie Mame. And Auntie Alison loves to travel, just like Mame.

Let's see some other favorites.

Rear Window
Gone With the Wind
Some Like It Hot ("I can never have children!" :rotfl: )
An Affair to Remember
Sianora
The Sound of Music

It's Rosalind Russell on TCM all night! Gypsy, one of my favorites, is on now, then the two Angels moves, Jeff's working nights, I may stay up all night!

Favorites are the old musicals from the 50's & 60's & the 60's Disney movies I remember from childhood. Specifically Singin' in the Rain, Bye Bye Birdie, Gypsy, West Side Story, State Fair (both versions), The Hailey Mills Disney movies like Summer Magic, That Darn Cat, The Moonspinners (is that the name?), the Kurt Russell movies, Flower Drum Song, Sound of Music, the Hitchcock ones and all of the 60's & 70's John Wayne movies! I'm in a time warp! That must be why I adore the throwback ones like the Mummy series and the Indiana Jones ones! I got up this morning and Marnie came on at 8AM. I was glued to it till it went off at 10:30, commercial free! Jeff knew better than to mention changing the channel when he came in the great room. :)

Rear Window
Arsenic and Old Lace
North by Northwest
The Long Long Trailer
Father Goose
Bringing up Baby

I love that movie, we camped in a 22 foot trailer on vacations growing up and I always wanted to ride in back....it looked fun and dangerous when Lucy did it. :) Probably a good thing it's illegal.

Same here, we had a 24 foot Coachman and I remember begging to ride in the back. Mom and Dad would look at each other and mention "the Long Long Trailer" and grin. I never knew what they meant till they started showing it on AMC and TCM. Not to mention the fact that it's illegal in GA to ride there, ya know!

I LOVE the old movies!! Some of my favorites are:

Now Voyager
Dark Victory
Brief Encounter
Mildred Pierce
