I am a know it all disney geek and I'm trying to plan a Family vacation to Disney World and Universal Studios. We are spending four days at Disney World and two at Universal Studios. Having two small children we would like to make this vacation as cost-efficient and convenient as possible. We don'tstaying in one room but we need a hotel that will allow at least one pack and play if not two. We also would like to use the universal express passunlimited. Can anyone help me pick a hotel off and on property and help me with tickets?

staying onsite?
probably best so you can come and go at the parks and return quickly back to your room with the littles when necessary.
all onsite deluxe hotel guests are allowed unlimited usage of the express lines in the parks.

Only the Deluxe resorts offer the Universal Express Pass for free with your stay. Many people find that benefit really worth it! Royal Pacific Resort is the cheapest of the three. You can sleep up to 5 in a room at Royal Pacific.

If you want to stay onsite and don't mind NOT having the Express Pass, Cabana Bay is a less expensive option, and they offer family suites that sleep up to six and have a kitchenette.

Well, Aunt Polly, any of the three deluxe hotels with two queen beds will work for you. We were just at RPR with a crib (hotel supplies actual cribs and not pack and plays) and it worked just fine. Two cribs, however, will require a larger room. I suggest one of the deluxes at HRH or Portofino. They are more expensive but have more room. The deluxes at HRH offer substantially more room. If you can get one that has just been redone, you'll really enjoy it. HRH is the closest to Universal as well and is only about a 5 minute walk to the gates of HRH and wonderful to return to the hotel to give the littles their naps.
