Ault activity during childs pirate boat voyage

We are planning to let our daughter do the pirate boat treasure voyage that leaves from the Grand Floridian Resort at 9:30. Never been to that resort, so we were wondering what can be done around 9:30 in the morning for two hours during the child's trip.

My daughter-in-law and I took a nice long monorail trip around to see the other resorts. We didn't get off at the Magic Kingdom but walked around the Contemporary, then got off at the TTC and walked over to the Polynesian and then walked over past the Wedding Pavilion (where there was a wedding going on), then back to the Grand Floridian where we sat on the beach and talked for a while. Very relaxing.

You can also take the Grand Floridian boat to the Magic Kingdom and then from there go over to Fort Wilderness if you've never seen that.

How about a nice breakfast at the GF cafe with your DH. When my DD went to the mad hatter tea party at the GF my DH and I had lunch by ourselves.

I agree with an above poster; do the monorail resort tour. There isn't enough time to do much else. We found that out when my niece did the pirate tour. We had time to visit a few resorts, browse a bit and head back over to pick her up. Enjoy

You can always opt to stay in your room for some alone time.

I forgot to add - whatever you decide to do, make sure you are at the dock at 11:30 when the pirate ship gets back. And if you have a video camera, get it rolling. That's all I'm going to say.

And get to the dock when it opens at 9:00 because you can have some great photos of your young pirate before anyone else gets there (wait until after you've checked in, you'll see what I mean).

Oh - and make sure the pirate goes to the bathroom before the boat loads. Two hours is a long time if the child has a full bladder.

When our kids did this a few years back, we just actually explored the GF. We had never really looked around the resort before. We looked in the shops and at all of the decorations in the lobby, then went and sat outside on a bench looking at MK waiting for the kids to come back. It is amazing how quickly a couple of hours goes by.

When my children did this it was the perfect amount of time to have a massage at the GF spa

It's only for children 4-10. Thanks for the tip on getting there early. We will be traveling from the POP to get there. We explored all hotels around the lake, POLY being our favorite. A massage sounds good, and something to eat sounds good to, especially since she will be coming back after she has a small meal out there. Ay suggestion on a light brunch?

Ahoy! Any child who has ever dreamed of being part of a pirate adventure will enjoy "heading out to sea" in pursuit of treasure.

Children ages 4-12 will be outfitted with a red/white striped pirate Mickey hat (or a bandana) and board their pirate ship (pontoon boat) under the supervision of the "pirate" crew. At each "port of call" a new treasure awaits. At the final stop, they can share their booty while enjoying lunch. At least two Cast Members accompany the children, which are all CPR certified. All participants must be potty trained. (No Pull-ups.)

Lunch is usually Peanut butter and jelly Uncrustables, Goldfish crackers, Rice Krispee Treat and fruit punch juice box
