When they started building this DVC I thought - oh great there's another place I'll never go to - it's just too far away.

Well after seeing some of the videos and reports we are officially starting to plan for the 2015 trip . Yes I know it's far out but we're already blowing 2 years worth of points in 2013 on a 3BR BLT villa for my 50th and by 2015 all out kids will be at least 7 and able to make the flight(s).

Anyone else already change their mind???

Glad to see I'm not alone!
I thought the same thing--too far away-I'd rather take that long flight and go to Europe and if I wanted tropical, I'd go to the Caribbean. Well, after reading up more and looking at more pics, I'm toying with the idea of going July 2012, for our 20th anniversary. To see Pearl Harbor and climb a volcano would make for a very DIFFERENT vacation.

I have yet to figure out if July is even a good time to go to Hawaii. Is there an off season? Is the weather better at different times of the year? Have to start doing some research. Oh yeah, and if the airfare wasn't $800/pp , that would make things easier! Then again, I'm paying that to get to Antigua from Chicago in Feb 2012 for DH's 40th...unbelievable!

Well truthfully I never had any doubts we would check it out and we are planning to go in September of 2012. And now the videos and pictures I've been seen have confirmed it's a good choice. But whether we will return is questionable. Like others have said it's just so far, then there's the expensive airfare and the number of points we'll use. Since we've only made it to Hawaii three times in the last 30 years I doubt we'll travel there regularly just because Disney is there.
