trying to get a semi list of things we need to bring / purchase for our room at Aulani. We will have a one bedroom for the first couple of nights and a GV for the last five nights.

We plan on having breakfast most days in the room. We are four adults

other than spices and food we prefer do we need anything else that we should purchase? Do we need extra toilet paper or is there enough, paper towels enough or we need to purchase some. Anything else anyone suggests we make sure we bring or purchase that there may not be enough for our stay?

We have washer / dryer sheets that have the soap in the sheets and that is what we are bringing for the washer / dryer in the room.
I read on here last year, cannot find it now, where people brought cleaners to wash the tubs in the room. I cannot remember what they actually brought but I think it was something like the cascade gel packs, am I remembering that correctly?

Thanks

You are furnished TP and paper towels for free, if you run out just ask for more. You can used the dishwasher detergent furnished in the kitchen to clean the jets in the spa tub.

You might bring some zip lock bags for leftovers, chip clips and definitely extra laundry detergent (we use Tide pods). You can pick up groceries and detergent at the Target or Safeway in nearby Kapolei or if you are a member the local Costco.

We are heading there next week (!! ) And we are going to go to Costco and Target when we get there. We plan to do 2 meals/day for all 10 of us in our room. Definitely breakfast and probably most dinners....we'll probably do QS lunch while we're out and about either on the resort or elsewhere. So our shopping list is quite huge for food...and will be expensive but when you compare that to eating out for 10 people I know it will be better. In addition to meal stuff we plan to get plenty of water, pop, coffee, boos/beer, and snacks to take to the beach with us. We also plan to get some sand toys so we don't have to worry about them being gone for checking out (the holiday will be at or close to capacity). Plus some pool toys.

We never clean anything in our rooms/villas. We are bringing small toiletries for each bathroom (2br villa) and laundry detergent. We will just use vinegar instead of fabric softener (that's what I use at home plus it's cheap and we'll be buying groceries anyway). We plan to get everyone a Hawaiian shirt when we get there to wear to the NYE party at the resort, and dresses for the little girls. We call for paper products or trash bags if we need them. Honestly that's really all that's on our list....but if we end up with anything else out of the ordinary I'll let you know when we get back :D

I suggest buying and packing all of the sunscreen you plan on using. It is more expensive in Hawaii.
I have a particular brand I like to use, so I made sure to buy 7 bottles before we left last time. I went through at least 5 of them.

We actually got our regular brand of sunblock at Target for the same we pay at home at Target. We found all the prices at Target very close to what we pay at home. That was a very pleasant surprise!
