Aulani: Washing machines

If you're staying in one of the villas with a washing machine, here's a tip: There is a safety feature on the washing machine that locks the machine until about 10 minutes after the washer finishes. Initially, I thought the washer lid was stuck. I called housekeeping and they explained the safety feature. I thought it was odd. Hope this tip saves you a call.

Wow, 10 minutes after the cycle ends, that is a long time.

And that was not my experience in four trips to Aulani. Just like all other washers I've used, the door unlocked within seconds after the cycle ended and the tub stopped spinning. I'm guessing there was something wrong with the machine you had problems with.

Sounds like it must be new. The washer we had in our 2BR last month didn't have any locking feature that I'm aware of....we opened it after the cycle had started to add stuff.
