Aulani video- shuttles and canoe trip?

Just watched a video by Just Be Out with a tour of Aulani. They mention a few things I wasn’t aware of:

1) shuttle to and from airport?
2) shuttle to and from the mall?
3) canoe trips for $90 pp -really? Where do they go??

The video was shot a few days ago.

I wasn’t aware of any of these things - any intel? Is it just inaccurate?

They have an outrigger canoe that they paddle out from the beach there at Aulani. I think they just go around outside the neighboring coves. I lost interest when I heard it was $100 PP and there are 4 of us, so we could potentially still be in with two other people. And they don’t necessarily run it if it’s not full, IF I remember correctly. You sign up down at the little beach rental hut/snack shack. Sorry for the sketchy details LOL

There used to be a shuttle to the mall, but I don’t know if it is running now. You can book (and pay for) airport transportation.

There also used to be a weekend shuttle to grocery shop from the Marriott, not sure if they picked up at Aulani as well. It was to help with arrivals of guests who didn’t rent a car (arrivals for weeks owners are only Friday, Saturday or Sundays). It is not running currently.

In the video she said the Luau was cancelled for the remainder of the year. I'm not sure that's accurate, since on Aulani FB page, people are positing pics from the Aulani Luau this week, including last night. Some are said they're scheduled for Friday night. Hope they don't cancel.

We were at Aulani from. 8/7 to 8/14. The shuttle to the mall and nearby stores was running we were told that by the front desk we had a rental car so we didn't get any information on the shuttle. The luau was going on while we were there. It was not a buffet but we enjoyed the food and the show. There is not and as far as I know never was a free shuttle to and from the airport. There is a company called Hele Hele that is listed on the Aulani website. If you are a DVC member they only charge for a 1 way trip. I cannot help with the canoe, the last trip in 2018 there was a large I guess you would call it an outrigger that left from the beach. But I don't recall seeing it this time.

The mall has a lot of chain stores, but there are a number of local stores worth checking out. The most notable is https://noeaudesigners.com/ - all items are made in Hawaii by local designers.

Wow, the shuttle to the mall is running! Thanks for the info! For our upcoming trip, we have a rental car, as do two other couples. Two other couples don’t have one, so that’s a great option (we’re not staying at Aulani, but at the Marriott).
