We just spent the week at Aulani. I know people love to plan, so I thought it maybe helpful to know that the Marriott next door is again open, in limited capacity. It was closed for 3 days, then parts started to reopen. The Starbucks is open, but can't accept gift cards yet. (Said they will soon, once four seasons has new contract w Starbucks) The tanks w sharks, rays etc are accessible and most restaurants are open. It all seems pretty complicated and staff are still trying to figure it all out. We were happy to see the hammerheads!

Are they doing any external construction? We will be there in less than two weeks and I'm so nervous about hearing construction noise.

Thanks!

No worries, according to an article in the Pacific Business Journal, the closing of the hotel has been postponed until April 5th.

Didn't they *just* redo that hotel? So strange.

It was shut down the first time we went to Aulani and then open earlier last year. The restaurants looked good but pricey. I'll be interested to see it in its new incarnation.

It has been purchased by Four Seasons which is more deluxe hotel that the Marriott. Although it sounds like the construction has been delayed based on the OP's post, this article some details of what will be changed.

Just keep in mind that although the Ihilani Hotel is open, it is NOT associated with Marriott anymore and running on minimal staffing.
