Aulani Trip Dec 2020?

We are hoping to make a trip to Aulani in late Dec 2020, using DVC points. Its not our home resort, so, because of the time of the year, do we even have a chance of getting our dream trip done on points? Any insight/prognostications welcome! Thanks!!

Possibly, but you need to be prepared to pay for a view. You won't get the elusive (only 8) hotel room. The Standard View category is also quite small. Island Gardens and Ocean are the two "big" categories, and, not coincidentally, the expensive categories.

Just to give you an idea, I booked 11 months for Dec. 27-Jan. 4 this new years. Looking at availability today the only things with full availability for those dates are ocean view rooms (studios/1-bed/2-bed/grand villa). Everything else has some partial availability (3-4 nights)
And that's just 4 days after I booked our island view 1-bed!

That week is gone before 7 mos for the most part. You should consider a transfer or renting if your heart is set in 12/23- 1/3. If you’re open to just before Xmas it’s a lovely time up until the 22nd. Slow and clean and you’ll be able to get cheaper views. Otherwise, plan on Pool or Ocean.

I'm trying to plan for the same thing.

Strongly considering just adding 200 points at Aulani at some point to guarantee I can visit there over Xmas break when we want to, and have the option of using a 2BR OV if we want to take family.

We bought Aulani resale so we could get in at holiday time. If you go the resale route try to find a contract with subsidized dues!
