Aulani Trade to Maui

We own at Aulani but would like to travel to Maui next summer. What hotels are comparable to Aulani in the island of Maui?

We have never been to Maui and looking forward to bringing our kids there. They want to learn to surf

We have been going to Maui for the past 26 years ! It's my other happy place!

There are timeshares all over the island. Some of the bigger ones include the Westin Ka'anapali Ocean Resort Villas, the Marriott Lahaina & Napili Villas, and the new Hyatt Residence Club. There are smaller ones and private residence rentals as well. These are all in West Maui. I am not very familiar with the timeshares in Kihei or Wailea, but I know there are some cozy ones. There are nice hotels like the Fairmont Kea Lani and the Grand Wailea.

Do you want a large resort like Aulani?

Honua Kai is another one that comes to mind, the pool are not even close to Aulani but they are lovely with waterslides etc The units are new and lovely although when I pulled up the website I see there is currently a "construction rate" for a new Westin property so you may want to look into how long that is happening etc

Yes, we are looking for a large resort. Something that is clean and nice. I guess we are spoiled by our DVC

Our kids are 21 and 23. They dont care much about slides. Just the opposite sex lol

IMO KBC is the only resort with RCI on Maui that I would consider trading DVC for. You may be better off renting out your points and paying cash or a condo or timeshare rental. Other alternatives would include a private exchange and using some of the independent exchange companies. The one's that make most sense for this situation would be HTSE (HI Timeshare Exch), TPI (Trading Places Intl), TPM (Trading Places Maui, not related) and SFX (San Francisco Exch). You open up to other resorts and additional inventory possibly at a reduced cost as well. The Westin, Maui and Hyatt are the premier options and all better than KBC IMO. There are other places I'd be willing to stay but at a reduced "cost".
