So apparently my wife and I purchased an Aulani subsidized contract and didn't even know it!

This past May we made our very first DVC purchase. Two Aulani resale contracts. A 125pt and a 175pt contract. Both December UY. Both purchased at $95/pt.

We paid our dues online the first day we could earlier this month. I quickly noticed the total amount due was a bit lower than I had anticipated. Not really knowing what to think and it being fairly hectic with the holidays and busyness at work, I didn't even look into further as to why that could be. Fast forward to today. We received our annual dues statement in the mail. With a line item that read "Vac Ownr Opr Dev Credit." -$2.5129 applied to 125 points. Not knowing what any of that meant, I did more digging and found this thread...

Which led me to check the Hawaii Bureau of Conveyances website. And sure enough, unbeknownst to my wife and I, the 125pt contract we purchased was originally deeded December 2010. A bona fied Aulani subsidized contract, Dec UY! Wife and I did a little high five in excitement! lol.

Merry Christmas!!!

Awesome!! Totally a miss on behalf of the seller/broker, but that works out perfectly for you.
We LOVED Aulani and I'm hoping to go back again in a couple of years.

Congratulations! Several folks on the DIS lately have had some great wins! Yours is terrific in that it will continue to benefit you through the life of your ownership, and if you sell you could sell immediately at a nice profit!

It happened to us too!

When we received our contract for our latest AUL resale, I did some digging in the Hawaii public records and it appeared that the previous owners had purchased in 2010. I was hopeful this meant we were getting some unexpected AUL subsidized points, but given my lack of experience searching Hawaiian timeshare titles and the less than thorough records I found I wasn't going to get my hopes up.

My suspicions were confirmed, however, when we received our closing docs and they showed a credit to the seller for 2025 dues on 100 points for $758.66!

This makes our average deal AUL resale contract an amazing deal.
