Aulani studio configuration ?

We checked in at Aulani staying on rented points and none of my requests were met. I wasn't able to do online check in because the system had been down.

I requested highest floor in pool view and got 2nd floor. I requested configuration where bed is next to sofa bed but was told that those rooms don't exist. When I pulled up an image and showed him in my phone, CM Justin said that those rooms do not exist. I asked him what about the one in the picture. He said that was taken a long time ago and they don't have them anymore. And, if they did, there's only one in each floor! Is he right?

So confused and frustrated. This is so not the way I wanted to start the trip.

It has soured me on Aulani and DVC for sure.

I've been a DVC member for 22 years and can tell you that requests are ONLY that. Requests. Never a guarantee unless you need a HA room and have requested it in advance. Aulani is a GORGEOUS resort and I can't believe you are going to let not getting the room location "sour (you) on Aulani and DVC for sure". I'm sorry but perhaps you are tired from a long flight? Look around you. You are in a beautiful place with great cast members and beautiful surroundings. As for the room photo you had, it could have been a mockup room Disney took photos of before the resort was completed.

I own another TS, Marriott on Maui and I paid a lot of money for my TS there and I can promise you I do NOT get all my requests. ONline check-in would not have guaranteed your requests at all either. I hope you can regroup and enjoy your stay. It would be a crying shame not to since you are THERE.

Don't know if you love music or not, but DH and I especially love going to the lounges in the evening and enjoying some truly outstanding Hawaiian music.

In re: to your thread title about Studio configuration. There should be a queen sized bed and a sofa that makes out into a queen sized sleeper.

I'm sitting here right now in the type of studio you mention-- sofa bed is right next to the bed (with nightstand between.) we are ocean view in Ewa Tower -- building right next to the lobby. If you look around, you will see that the rooms in the two towers immediately flanking the lobby have different configurations than the other buildings facing the pool. In order to provide an ocean view, they have walls on a slant where the sliding door is. The sliding door on our room is directly in the center and we do not have a slanted wall. Having a square room allows the bed and sofa bed to be on the same wall. That being said, I agree with an earlier poster that a request is just that -- a request. Not always able to be fulfilled. Nonetheless, enjoy your stay here at Aulani! We are! Aloha!!
