Hi,

I know this is a random shot in the dark, but has anyone had services at the Aulani Spa who is plus sized? I have a facial and scalp massage booked for our trip next week and I am nervous. I wonder if I will feel out of place or run into any size issues. I guess this concerns Aulani in general, not just the spa.

I am used to WDW being plus size friendly, but have never been to Hawaii before.

Anyone have experience with this or have any positive thoughts to send my way? I appreciate it!

Definitely positive thoughts!! I am wondering as well. We have found the spas on DCL to be plus size friendly. My DH is plus sized and we are planning a trip to Aulani in December. I am planning on gifting him a spa experience as his Christmas present :goodvibes. He has loved his spas on the Wonder and the Magic.

Thank you for the positive thoughts! :goodvibes

I plan on doing a trip report when we return, so be on the lookout for it. I'll post some pictures and details on how the spa was for me. I'm really hoping that since Disney is usually plus size friendly elsewhere, that they will be at Aulani too.

I did email the spa, and asked them what the weight limit was for their massage tables. They replied that the massage tables have weight limits of 350 pounds. So, that made me feel a little better. At least I won't be breaking the table. :)

Well, here are some VERY POSITIVE THOUGHTS coming your way!!!! You should be totally excited about your upcoming trip, and I just hate it that this concern is on your mind. I have to believe this and all spas are ready for guests in all shapes and sizes.

Have the time of your lives at Aulani!! I can't wait to read your TR when you return -- we are headed there in 58 days and cannot wait!! We won't be visiting the spa (this time! LOL!) but we are thinking of springing for a cabana one day. Just so, so excited about it all!

Wishing you a very magical trip!!!:woohoo:

We didn't do any spa services when we were there a few weeks ago but please do NOT even give size a second thought at all. There's people of all sizes at Aulani and throughout Hawaii. Enjoy yourself and enjoy the experience as you deserve to :) I am by no means the smallest woman and I never once felt out of place. :)

Our plus sized adult son intends to take full advantage of all Aulani has to offer, and I'm sure you can as well. We'll see how it goes in February.

I would not worry about it at all. I am sure they will be accommodating of all sizes.

Thank you so much to EVERYONE for the positive thoughts and pixie dust!!!!!!

It really means so much to me to hear all the support. I feel a lot less nervous now and am determined to relax and enjoy myself and not be so self conscious. I deserve to be there and enjoy myself as much as anyone else, even if I'm a big girl.

I will definitely be doing the trip report and will come back and link to it from here.

Leanna :goodvibes

Have an awesome time and don't forget to enjoy the wonderful sunsets! We didn't have time to check out the spa on our first visit, but plan on it for our upcoming trip.
