Good morning guys, about a week out from booking our honeymoon at Aulani & I'm looking for some recommendations on views & other room requests. Our initial thought has been Ocean View Studio (we have enough points for 3 full weeks in an Oceanview studio), but we were just curious to hear some other recommendations from those of you who've been there.

Most likely you will get a unit on one of the top floors (15 or 16). This will allow you to see both the ocean as well as the mountains (because you will be much higher than the roof of the center lobby). You'll also have a spectacular view of the "valley" area between the two wings of the resort. I don't think you'll be disappointed. If you reserve a pool/garden view you most likely will still be able to see the ocean - but your villa will be on a much lower floor.

That sounds awesome. We always request the highest floor available anyway so this sounds great.

This thread on Aulani Villas and Views might be of interest to you.

BTW, an Ocean View villa does not guarantee that you'll be overlooking the Waikolohe Valley. Also, the Ocean View view studios start as low as the 6th floor, while the Pool View studios can be as low as the 1st floor or as high as the 5th floor.

Aulani is a superb resort. I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay.

Something I haven't seen mentioned on these boards is how incredibly fast and efficient the elevators are. (They are also very quiet and you can't hardly tell you're moving... no stomach lurching!) I guess I thought that was important enough to say since you want to be on the highest floor, I don't think you'll be disappointed with the elevators. I also wouldn't be nervous about being near the elevators. We were two doors down from the main elevator and rarely heard a peep from the hallways (the crying kid next door was another story). Hope that helps a little!

We loved our ocean view. Definitely request an even numbered room. Looks like the odd numbers don't have as nice of view.
