Does anyone know if you are allowed to bring snacks & beverages - "adult and kids" to the pool area or any where else on the grounds

Yes. We brought a soft sided lunch bag type cooler with snacks. We had our adult beverages in our reusable mugs.

I had beer in a cooler at the pool and the beach all ten days of my trip in February. Made sandwiches in the room and ate by the pool at lunch. Had chips and salsa by the pool (plastic containers only).

You just can't bring a big cooler. Saw this one guest who actually brought this big cooler w/wheels to the pool. When the Cast Member told her it was not allowed she did what every smart individual would do...put a towel that was too small to cover it on top to "hide"! Needless to say they were asked to get rid of it.

You can bring outside food & drinks but be discreet about it. They only allow guests ordering from the Off the Hook menu to sit at the tables. In the beginning people like us used to sit at the tables to eat or hangout but they stopped that. Which I agree with.
