Has anyone recently had a private photo session with the photo pass photographer at Aulani? Where you happy with the results? We have a session scheduled for our visit but would entertain an outside photographer since the prices seem close to equal. TIA

The last two times we we're in Aulani, there was always a disney photopass photographer by the beach around sunset time. We never had issues getting our photos taken. One day there was no photographer so I called them up. They we're very nice and sent somebody by the beach.

I havent done the photo session, but it sure sounds like a cool idea.

There was another thread with this same question in the DVC Resorts section here on the DIS that might be helpful, here is the link:

We did the photo session on our last trip. There was 7 of us there and the photographer was absolutely great and the pictures were amazing. We had our pictures done at numerous spots on the beach right around sunset. I think we had about 90 pictures on the CD. We are going back in 40 days and plan on doing it again. It was well worth the money.

When a session is set up, do they have clothing suggestions? Some photogs like when a family wears one color attire, as it draws the attention to the faces rather than the clothes.

DH set up the session with Disney, he doesn't recall them giving any clothing suggestions. They did offer session suggestions based on desired locations. Depending on the length of session you choose, you can your pick locations. Full session...2 locations, half session was 1.

They didn't recommend any clothing suggestions but we did all
White shirts with tan shorts and they turned out great with the beach / ocean back ground and sunset

Can you post a few pictures, I'd love to see them!

Who did you call to set up the session? We will be there in less than a month, so hopefully I can still reserve a session for my family. So excited!:goodvibes

We called Aulani directly and asked to speak with the Photopass CM. They were very helpful and emailed our confirmation. We will be there in less than two months...very excited!!

DD and new hubby are at Aulani now. Son in law called yesterday and was quoted $225 for the 20 minute session. Do those of you who have done this think it's worth $225? They had planned on doing this, but it's quite a bit higher than they expected. They're honeymooning, if that would make a difference in your reply.

Thanks for any feedback/advice!

We just returned from Aulani last week, missing paradise, while we were there we did the full photo session. The photos came out beautiful! We had scheduled a sunset session, we did two locations, one in the lush gardens and then down on the beach. I am thrilled with the photos! We got over 200+ photos. We were able to review all the photos the next day before purchasing the CD plus with DVC you get a discount. I will schedule another session when we go back in a few years. BTW, Brooke was our photographer, she was very sweet!

My husband and I did a private session last June. It was the mini session, I believe 20 minutes. During that small amount of time we took over 100 photos! I chose to go through Aulani due to convenience. But the added perks were that you get a discount because you are a DVC member and at that time (I don't know if this is still currently available) I had the option to buy a photopass CD for $49. We took advantage of the photopass discount and took tons of photos with characters, around e resort, and had an impromptu sunset photo shoot with the entire family. There wasn't a lot of people on the beach one day and a photographer was roaming around. We snagged him and took lots of nice photos.

This is super helpful information! I had been researching photographers on Oahu and was getting depressed at the cost for some of them! Going through Photopass is definitely the way we'll go! Thanks everyone. We'll be there in November! Can't wait!

Can anybody post a few pictures so we can see? thanks!
