Aulani Poolview Villa

Has anyone had issues with noise from the pools when staying in the pool view villas? I have enough points for pool view, and I do love the view, but wondering if I should book island view instead as we will be traveling with kids who need naps in the afternoon.

The Aulani villas have very good soundproofing. We were in villa 304, a Pool View studio on the third floor very near the Menehune Water play bridge. When the play area was open (from 8:00 AM to about 6:00 PM) the noise from the splashing water and squealing children was very loud. I had a little bit of difficulty carrying on a cellphone conversation due to the background noise. However, once I retreated into the villa and closed the balcony door, the sounds were very muted. The exterior sounds did not interfere with normal conversation or watching TV while inside the villa.

We had 412 (I believe) which overlooked the play area as well and I agree, with the door shut, there was hardly any (zero?) noise. At night, we could hear the live music from the bar but my kids were so tired, it didn't matter at all. My kids are usually more sensitive to sound but they were wiped out each night!
