Does this mean Aulani will be flooded with visitors from Japan? That's the week we'll be there and I was hoping it wouldn't be crowded since summer hasn't started yet here on the mainland.

"Flooded" - no. A few more, sure. There's about 13-14 flights per day between Japan and Honolulu in February as an example, and about 13-14 flights per day in May. The Japan-Honolulu available seat counts don't change much, only the price changes during periods of peak demand.
Remember, Disney's objective in setting prices (point cost) for DVC room nights is to even out demand. They try to price the resort so that occupancy is constant throughout the year - that's their goal.
Also remember that they are selling Aulani with a fixed week option. This would be the week that the Japanese purchasers would pay the premium for, so availability may be more difficult as far as available inventory!
Aulani's largest number of owners is expected folks from the west coast and Japan. Disney has a sales office in Japan and they have hired bi-lingual CMs for MS.
