Aulani or WDW for Xmas Season? Indecision City!!

I have a 2 bedroom OV booked at Aulani Dec 15-23 (NYE was already gone one week after 11mo)

Here is my dilemma:

Should I switch to WDW for Dec 25-Jan 1/2?

WDW- Christmas deco, surprise the kids on Xmas morning and head to airport, never been at the holidays to WDW, get to spend the lead up to xmas at home with all of our traditions. Kidani 2 bed, SSR 2 bed, or BWV, and VWL 1 bed still avail. Poly is avail- but then wouldn't we go to Hawaii in that case. We have reservations for Feb break at Aulani also Dec 31st is my daughter's 6 Bday

Aulani- Hawaii, fruit for days, weather, relaxation, no lines for rides etc, we are going to WDW in October already (VGF), we already have a great reservation at Aulani. Airfare from Seattle to MCO is greater than to HNL that week time.

Giving that info, its a toss up. I did go to WDW last Oct and again in Jan and it was fabulous- of course it was quieter in January but the weather cold and rainy. Here's another factor, our au pair has asked for her family to come visit from Dec 27- Jan 2/4. Maybe it's easier for us to be away, My first choice would have been Xmas-NY at Aulani but that's not to be. the second I give up Aulani, its not like I can get it back and the clock is ticking on anything at WDW.

Or do I let it ride and just plan to do WDW next Xmas and be johnny on the spot at 7 mos. HELP!!

My vote- Aulani. Are the kids young, where they would want to play with the toys they get, not open them and race out of the house. You have the Oct reservation. Air fare is cheaper. I'm sure there will be some decorations in HI.

I don't think I would want to brave the Christmas week crowd as my only time in WDW.

This year I would stick with Aulani, and next year try to get to WDW at least 15 days befor Christmas. Going much later you miss MVMCP, perhaps a Merry Mixer, and it gets much more crowded.
