Aulani in winter months?

Hi all, can anyone share their thoughts on visiting Aulani in January, February or March? I know the average high is still around 80 but I'm a little concerned about lower temps in morning/evenings that might play a role in being able to enjoy the pool and lagoon. We have never been to Hawaii.

Due to work schedules these months are easiest to plan a trip now but if it makes a big difference in water temps and being able to swim then maybe it's worth it to wait until we can go in the summer or fall.

Also, is there some way of finding out how different weeks compare at Aulani as far as crowds? Previously planned on going in October for good weather and low crowds but that won't work anymore so does anyone have tips for choosing a good low-crowd winter week?

We have been there twice in February. During the day it is nice and warm. But it is pretty windy and chilly in the later hours of the afternoon and evening. Trips around the lazy river were cold. We spent a lot of evenings in the jacuzzis with the kids in order to enjoy the pool once the sun started to go down.

I can let you know about January when we get back on the 6th.....but I think part it is what you're accustomed to. We're from MT and will be coming from really nice weather for us...it's 30-40 right now....but comparatively that's cold. Cold and windy to Hawaii won't be cold and windy to us. I'm hoping for a drastic temp drop and tons of snow in the next week so it's more fun to "escape"

We go to Hawaii every other year in February...perfect weather!!! Warm!

We went to Ko Olina in March 2011. (To the Marriott Vacation Club property). I remember it being nice and warm the entire week! We never put on pants. I don't remember putting on a jacket or anything like that either. The lagoon might have been a bit cool. But we are from Ohio.

You should be okay, but it's true that it does depend on what you're used to.

We always go to Ko Olina in the summer (been back 8 times over the last 16 years since we moved away from Oahu).

When we lived on Oahu, we didn't go to the beach quite as often in the winter. The water to me was a little too cool, but I was spoiled! We'd go to Waikiki on a cooler January day and see tons of folks enjoying the water! Just not me - I'm a wimp!

Definitely pack a light sweater or jacket for the evenings. You'd need it probably even in the summer.

One nice thing: the sun pretty much rises and sets the same time year round. So in the winter, it stays light later than at home (but in the summer it still gets dark same time, so you lose some of the later sunsets - but with the time change I don't mind!).

We just returned and the weather was cooler than normal. All of the locals kept saying how cold it was. We found the weather to be beautiful. We spent many days on the beach. We did have rain a couple days but overall the weather was mid-70s and sunny. I wore a light sweater with a long skirt or pants in the evenings and was fine.
