Aulani in August - strategy needed?

Hi all

Just reading all of the strategy threads on booking Aulani at the 7 month window for June reservations, it has made me quite nervous about my August trip.

I am hoping for 8 nights in a studio during mid August, and have kept enough points to book an ocean view room at 7 months.

As we are travelling from the UK, we have already booked all of our flights and other accommodation, so this is the last (and most important) piece of the puzzle.

Am I right to be worried? Or is August an easier time to book than June?

I would plan on walking your reservation from the week before leaving the first needed vacation day as last day in your reservation. Then each day you drop a day and add a day at the end until you complete. if you don't get the first day then it is much harder to get any time at all or go on wait list.

I haven't read about any problems booking at Aulani in August at the 7 month mark. Am I missing something? Does the OP really need to walk an August reservation?

Exactly, the OP is asking about August, not June.

Personally if I had already booked my airfare and was clueless about how hard or easy it was to get the room I wanted, I would walk. Its better to have done alittle extra work and gotten exactly what you want then to be disappointed. You can't predict what will happen but you can increase your odds .

Exactly, the OP is asking about August, not June.

yes, June is more difficult than August as more people try to book when there are lower point requirements. Hope that clarifies my thought process. Line one (beyond the salutation) of their post says they are seeing people having trouble booking in June...likely won't be as much an issue in August due to higher point requirements.

Thank you everyone - I guess I was trying to gauge whether June is particularly busy or whether now that the resort is bigger and more established, it was more difficult to get 7 month reservations
