Aulani hotel rooms near villas?

We are planning a trip to Aulani in 2016. We have offered other family members to come along. We will be using our DVC points for a 2 bedroom oceanview villa. If we use our points to get family members standard hotel rooms, could they be located near our villa or are the hotel rooms in different bldgs? If so, we may try to get them studios (although more points of course) so trying to crunch the numbers!

The hotel portion of the Aulani Resort is located on the Waianae side of the resort, close to the lobby and the parking garage. On the map below, the hotel rooms are in the wings with the room number designations of "20-29" and "30-47."

The DVC villas closest to the hotel wings are in the Waianae Building with room numbers "01-13." Since you have booked an Ocean View two-bedroom, your villa will be no lower than the 6th floor if you get a villa in the Waianae Building.

By the way, the villas in the Waianea Building and the hotel rooms share the same bank of elevators. The elevators are located where the three wings join. On the map, the elevators are just to the left of the "20-29" designation. Even if you can't get hotel rooms on the same floor as your villas, its fairly quick and easy to move from floor to floor at Aulani.
