:confused3 Just got our points for our new (3rd) contract so I called to make reservations for July 16-20.
(bought the contract just to use for Hawaii vacation)
I already booked July 14 and 15 on our other membership at the 7 month window.

EVERYTHING IS BOOKED!!! No rooms of any size or view!

What are the chances someone will cancel? What do I do now??

Any suggestions?

Waitlist!!! I'm going July 11 - 17th and I'm sorry to say I have no intention of canceling my ressie unless my wait list comes through. I'm wait listed for a dedicated 2 BR OV, I currently have a 2 BR OV lock off. I called the first day I could to book at 9AM and that's all I could get at then. I'm hoping that when they declare more inventory, my wait list will clear.... Here's to hoping it will! Good luck to you!

More technically is that all declared inventory for your time is booked, that does not mean the entire resort or villas side is full necessarily. Wait list because there may be cancelations or they may declare inventory later that could be used to fill your WL.

August seems to be booked too. No 1 bedrooms for the beginning of the month.
When is the next phase set to open?

Since this is probably a new add on contract direct from Disney, I might call back your guide and mention it to him/her that you can't use any of your new points and see if he can do anything to help you.

I know for new members, they have been able to secure hard to get reservations, but maybe they can do something about a current member who has just added on the Aulani points.

Good luck!!

No, it is a resale.

I am very happy with our contract, just wish the seller had been on the ball in returning the paperwork so we could have closed sooner

I understand that the resort rooms are still under construction and that Disney will finish out and declare inventory as sales progress.

According to one of my Disney sources, they still have not been licensed to sell in all States.

Bill, I'm sure you know this but for others. Disney will declare them EITHER when they are ready or when they are needed for sales, which ever is later. They must declare a unit prior to selling it which creates a mild surplus and also opens up rooms to reserve when there previously weren't any. Remember a unit is not necessarily a single room or villa but often a group of rooms. Usually only 3 BR are declared as a single villa to a unit. This all makes new resorts easier to reserve then sold out ones all else being equal.

On a side note, this same issue often creates excess inventory and thus makes it easier to trade into new timeshares through II or RCI directly. Unfortunately, this doesn't help in trading to or from DVC because DVC tends to not deposit inventory for new resorts into RCI (unlike most resorts or systems) and they also tend to not list resorts currently being built on their exchange list.

We couldn't get a 1 bedroom any view for August 1-8. We called on January 2 (since the first was a holiday) and the only thing they had available was a PV Studio. We took it and decided to live with it. We hope we will be about using the resort and not being in our room a lot. I will miss the full kitchen and washer and dryer though!!!! :thumbsup2
