Hey! I just recently booked Aulani for my Fiance and I for our honeymoon! we are very excited as this will be both of our first time going to Hawaii! What can everyone tell me about the overall experience. Also being that its our honeymoon we are looking to get a good mix of relaxation and site seeing. What is there around the island to do??? Has anyone made the trip to other islands during their stay?? How did you go about this and what was your experience... We are hoping to see beaufitul sites... waterfalls volcanoes... relaxing by the ocean... etc etc.... Thanks so much for your information and experiences. pictures would be great as well!! we have an ocean view studio also.

Congratulations!

There is lots to do on Oahu, just to name a few:

- Hanauma Bay: beautiful view from above, good snorkeling for beginners
- Hike Diamond Head
- Pearl Harbor
- Lanikai/Kailua beaches: long, beautiful beach, very little people on weekdays
- Polynesian Cultural Center: I really liked their night time show, like a cross between a luau show and a Broadway show. The villages during the day are interesting too. A couple cons (minor for me personally), the food is not great and no caffeine or alcohol (run by Mormons).
- North Shore (love the shrimp trucks)

As for visiting another island - there are plenty of inter-island flights, but it does take a good part of the day to pack up, get to the airport, etc. If you want to see a live volcano, that would be the Big Island. You can fly to Hilo, stay 2-3 nights in Hilo or Volcano, go to Volcanoes National Park, maybe take a helicopter tour (it is your honeymoon after all!). Or if your trip can be longer, stay a week (or more), there is a lot to do on the Big Island.

Congratulations! My husband and I visited Hawaii for two weeks for our Honeymoon this past September. My trip report is in my signature and describes everything we did and all the islands we visited - feel free to ask any questions!

We chose to stay at Aulani last and found that planning every other day as a "resort" day made for a good mix of relaxation and activities. We felt like we took advantage of everything the resort had to offer, while still taking in many of the sights of Oahu.

Hi! Congratulations! My husband and I went on our honeymoon to Maui and Oahu and stayed at Aulani this past August.

We bought the Go Oahu Card through Costco - you'll get varying opinions from this board about whether it's worth it or not - to us, it was. One of the things we did with the card was the All of Oahu in One Day Tour. It was great! It took us all over the island with a wonderful tour guide and allowed us to stop in places like Hanauma Bay. We also used the card to go to Pearl Harbor, the Kualoa Ranch where we did the Jungle Expedition Tour and the Movie Sites tour, and a few other places. We had a great time and alternated days of activity with days of laying low and just relaxing by the pool at Aulani. We had the most amazing time!
