Aulani Concerns

Just back from a weeks stay. Beautiful, clean, no wear, resort and room. We noticed that the sewer pipe for Aulani and other resorts still hasn't been repaired and that there was a funding issue for repairs. I wonder if the Aulani owners will have to pay towards repairs via a special assessment?

Another concern is when Atlantis gets built will they block the view looking left from Aulani, the view to the right is already blocked by the Four Seasons.

Any thoughts or information?

I am glad you enjoyed your trip to Aulani, we just purchased resale there early this year after taking two trips and totally fell in love!

I think Atlantis will take away from the view a bit both during construction and when it is actually up. Maybe Aulani will have to do some reclassification on some views once it's determined where the building will be placed. Looking at this aerial shot, I think it will be back a bit further from the water than the 4-Seasons to make room for the water park portion.

We have friends who live in the golf course community across the road from Aulani. They said construction was supposed to already be underway, but so far nothing. We are heading there at the end of August and they said they don't see them doing anything soon.

I didn't even realize there was a sewer pipe issue, guess we'll just have to see what happens when it comes to dues (at least we purchased a subsidized contract!)

We were concerned before our February 2017 trip because of the thread. However, there were no problems when we went.

I had a view that I thought was lovely in spite of the Four Seasons.

Just out of curiosity, if you would be so kind as to answer . . . a couple of weeks ago I got an email from Disney touting Aulani, with a link to an on-line pamphlet. The pamphlet had a page about the Starlit Hui show!
Last I heard, the show was canceled a couple of years ago. It was one of the highlights of my stay there. Is it back?

Yes, I know about the luau. Watching video of it, the preceding "cultural experience" and the show itself seems similar to Starlit Hui, but with a bigger cast and expanded a bit. Disney has really cut back on some things that were planned and never implemented (harvest and make your own poi, catch and grill a fish) and things that were dropped (stingray tank, Starlit Hui).
Which reminds me, is that "adventure" with the tablets, where you go around the resort looking for clues and activating different events, still being offered?

Yes as far as I know they still offer that activity (I believe it's exploring the Menehune trail?)

Yes, that's it. When I was there when it first opened, there were two--one outdoors, and one indoors.
