I am looking for a good water to take pictures while we are at Aulani. I know lot of people have been snorkeling and scuba diving. Any suggestions on a waterproof camera?

DH and I have the Olympus Stylus Tough 8010 camera. We've actually taken it to Hawaii several times. It takes amazing photos and video underwater. It's waterproof up to 10 meters and shockproof, freezeproof, etc. The freezeproof came in very handy for sunrise at Haleakala! We were always Nikon devotees, but we both agree that this is the best point and shoot we've owned.

After using it in the ocean, do you anything to the camera afterwards? I read about soaking it in regular water to get the sea salt out.

Hi living20057. i have a canon waterproof camera and i do soak it in regular water after being in salt water. the instructions recommend it.

yes - we usually rinse it off - we really don't soak it. We've had the camera for 4 years now (and 2 trips to Hawaii) and haven't had a problem.

Two pictures at GCV's pool using the kodak playsport

we just left Aulani. I used the new Olympus TG-1. It was awesome! Great pics under and over water. I got video footage (1080p) of my daughter and I going down the waterside.

We bought an older version of this camera from NewEgg last year for $59 including shipping. It uses the same battery and charger as all my other camera's as well.

I vote for the Playsport. Look on Ebay and you can get a good deal. That's where I bought mine for use at Aulani.
