Has anyone had any luck snagging a cancelled cabana reservation at Aulani? I called today to book a cabana for our December 2023 trip and all the cabanas were booked the entire week! Hoping someone will cancel and I can pick it up. 🤞🏻

I’m hoping someone answers as I have had the same luck with our March trip. No cabanas…

When I was there over Halloween for 10 days, there were cancels every day for the next day, they let people book with no deposit and cancel up till day of ressie. We got one for a day on the small pool on north end of pools, was okay, but hard to see value in it. There were only 4 of us and 2 of those were teen girls that only showed up to eat then POOF gone again.

Had the executive lanai open up for our March trip. Then had the lanai open once again when we had to reschedule March for July. No luck so far with a cabana, but I keep checking. I really love cold drinks (no fridge in the lanai) and shade (no shade in the afternoon) or I would be happy to stick with the lanai. I will keep the lanai if a cabana never opens up though, because a (semi) private retreat for our pool day is better than nothing.

When are you going in July? I called again yesterday to see if there’s been any cancellations, and they said they only book cabanas six months out. The upper and lower veranda, and the executive lanai you can book as soon as you have a reservation, though. I had not heard the six-month rule before, and I’m not sure if that is correct, but that is what I was told on the phone. Perhaps if you are visiting later in July, it is not your six month mark and you still have a chance to get the cabana! I’m interested to hear if it works out for you!

Going at the end of July/beginning of August. I'm pretty sure they all book one year out (with a reservation), so I am not sure why you were told 6 months. Just in case it did change from 1 year to 6 months, I will call again at the 6 month mark. I've been calling every week anyway. Thanks. Good luck to you as well.

I went in October. When I called prior to arrival they said everything was booked, but when we were there in person you could go to the shack where you sign up for snorkeling in the morning and they can tell you if there are any cancellations. We were able to snag one.

Are any of the cabanas or clamshells for reservation directly on the beach or are they all set back?
They are all back. The patios (executive lanai and casabella) are on the stairway down to the beach. Then theres a grassy area with the day rental casabella (clamshell) loungers. Then the beach.
