Aulani Banked, Expiring Points Extended until Feb 28, 2021

As we previously shared, Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa is working toward a phased reopening beginning on November 1, 2020.

To provide greater flexibility for Members with an ownership interest at Aulani, Disney Vacation Club Villas, Ko Olina, Hawaii, we've modified our temporary policies regarding expiring Vacation Points for those with a reservation impacted by the Resort's closure. If you have previously banked Points that are still eligible for use, they will automatically be extended through Feb 28, 2021, and will be available online for use through the Member Online Booking tool once your Use Year has ended. This includes previously banked April, June, August, September, October, or December 2018 or February 2019 Aulani Use Year points. All other types of Points will follow their normal expiration process.

Yeah! That is great news for all of the Aulani owners! It also bodes well that they will make some additional exceptions for VGC owners as well!

So happy they did this for us! Such a relief. We have banked points from Feb 2019 that were to be used for our summer trip. We've now booked a WDW trip for the first week of Nov to avoid losing them, but it's a relief to know that they will still be there if we had to cancel our upcoming trip for some reason.

This makes me feel much better about my VGC points that are at risk that are on VGC reservations. Just trying to use them somehow but keep getting cancelled due to the continued resort closure.

The CA Governor just said today that CA theme parks aren't going to be opening up anytime soon. I have Dec and Jan VGC reservations I bet I won't be able to use

so I heard. I live local to Disneyland so I stay pretty up on the Disneyland news.i have an ap that I would love to use again. I can’t really go to wdw right now so have been hoping to use at vgc (expiring 11/30 - some vgc and some AKV). But I pretty much have zero hope now. I am up to 5 cancellations at vgc trying to use these points. I guess we will see what happens.

Same here 60+ points from Mar19 and been a big zero to use those. Would be huge bummer to unable to bank those to 2021.

With banking deadline coming up for 2020 use year, is banking deadline also being extended? Have quite a few reservations between 11/2020-2/28/2021 that would love to keep, but if they don't open and banking window closed --- what happens?

Banking deadlines have not been extended. I have November reservation using some current UY VGC points, some banked VGC points, and some banked AKV points. I kind of assume I will lose my AKV points. I need to call about banking my VGC since they will be the one cancelling. Heard some people can get them banked and some not. My previously banked VGC I hope get extended at least a bit. Reservation was booked 11 months out in good faith before Covid (except the one day I added on later to try to use the AKV points after cancelling WDW trip in Sept).

To add though that they have said to adhere to banking deadlines as well.

So, I don’t think anyone should assume it as they don’t have to extend.

If I was someone with a reservation at VGC I would not keep past deadline unless I was okay with using at WDW.

I am a December use year. They just canceled my reservation at Grand Cal 8 days out and blamed me for not canceling months ago. I was told my points must be used by Nov 30th no extension.

But, there is still some time before those points expire so management may still make a change.

I wish they would stop telling people to wait for them to cancel because they don’t do anything special. I canceled all of my trips without waiting on them and got the same extensions on eligible points that everyone else did...even got late banking on some I wasn’t expecting.

Honestly, my faith in their customer service is gone. Intentionally keeping the resort closed, agents randomly telling people different things. Some resorts get extensions but not others.
