Aulani at 7mo mark in early to mid July?!

Looking for advice. I currently am an owner of 400pts, and will have 975pts (banking and borrowing) for aulani in July 2018.

The issue is that I need to get 1) one 2bd plus 2) one studio for a week (7 nights)

We are fine if we can get ANY studio and ANY 2bd. However, if there are NO studios left, and must get an ocean 1bd plus ocean 2bd, we will be short 50pts.

We do not want to move rooms- at least not more than once.

Am I over stressing? I'm actually considering a 100pt AUL resale context in the low 80s, or if I can get it in the mid 70s, just for this trip. That way I can get a hotel room or std studio.

Thought?!?!

If you're planning to use the points to visit Aulani regularly, then I would go for it. If it's just a one time need, have you considered looking for a transfer of points?

Good idea. It's a one time trip. I'm already dreading the 11hr flight and time change with a 9yr and 5 yr old (their age in 1.5 yrs). I would just need someone to transfer 50 from anywhere to use at 7mo mark.

I know someone who has offered to exchange my blt or bwv points for their aulani pts but it'll be a room swap vs transferring points. However, they only need a 2bd (and 350ish points). Aulani std 2bd is 448pts for the week. However, they may back out... its 1.5yrs from now.

Just hoping we don't need to move. At all. It's tentatively the week after July 4 right now.

You still have plenty of time to seek a transfer of 50-100 pts. It's probably the easiest way to go, and you will maintain control of the reservation. You don't have to wait - you can transfer in current 2017 points (bankable to 2018), and even 2018 points, right now.

Regarding the points swap, if you both have 2 separate memberships, you could transfer points to each other instead.

I think all my points, despite being two different home resorts, fall under the same membership....

If I was in your position, I'd feel optimistic about booking a studio and a two-bedroom villa at the 7-month window for early July. Aulani is a big resort so that works in your favor when trying to book at the 7-month window. As far as I can tell, about 52% of the resort's 459 vacation homes have been declared for the DVC inventory.

The good news is that you are flexible about the type of accommodation view and I'm assuming you would be happy with either a lock-off or dedicated two-bedroom.

However, the bad news is that Aulani's Standard View villas are very popular with Aulani owners. Standard View villas of all sizes are particular popular during the weekends and it will be very difficult to find 7 consecutive nights in a Standard View at seven months. If you really need to book a Standard View at 7-months, then be prepared to get only part of what you want.
