Aulani at 7 months--living dangerously

I am a very lucky woman. My DH has health issues that make the long flight to Hawaii way too difficult. But a couple of weeks ago he told me that I should go with my DSis. What a sweetheart. He knows that Hawaii is my favorite place on earth.
I booked a condo on Big Island (thanks for the tip, dianeschlicht!) and I am hoping to book Aulani for Feb. 6 - 11. I have considered transferring or renting points to get the 11 month window, but I think it is tough to do that for Aulani. So I am wishing on a star that I can get a 1 bedroom OV at 7 months. Today I booked air tickets for cash and used FF miles to upgrade to First Class (the seats for upgrades are very limited so I wanted to book before they were gone). If I don't get Aulani at 7 months I will have to invent a plan B. I have had so much good luck with DVC booking in the past. I hope I have not used up all my pixie dust already. Aulani looks amazing (even though Oahu is not my favorite island). And MN winters are L-O-N-G. Here's to throwing caution to the wind!

Good Luck there is a beautiful resort right next door as well. The marina next door was handy for deep sea fishing.

Nice hubby! I think you can get it...maybe you could consider a different view 1 bedroom or an OV studio as your Plan B?! That's what I would do anyway. I think the week you're talking about is probably a lower demand week so there should be SOMETHING available. It's in-between MLK and President's Day and I think it's probably before the New England break week. Just be online right before your 7 mo. window opens & as soon as the clock strikes 8:00 Eastern grab it!!! Good luck!

I will take whatever I can get. I would rather not do a studio but would do a 2 bedroom. I will be ready to book online at 8:00 Eastern!

Have fun! Which condo did you book on the Big Island? I got married there and it's our favorite place . . .

We own at Aulani and I think you will be fine at 7 months for early February Plus early Feb is such a low season for Oahu anyway...

dianeschlicht recently stayed at Banyan Tree in a beautiful oceanfront 2 bedroom, so that is where we will stay. Big Island is also my favorite. So much to see and do. The only thing I like better on Maui is the whale watching.
