Aulani at 7 month window

We are planning on doing the Hawaiian cruise on NCL that starts/ends in Honolulu. Just curious how much I need to worry about availability for 5 or 6 nights after our cruise., since I can only book at the 7 month window. It would be Nov 13th 2021. So Thanksgiving is not until the following week. Has anyone had any problems? Since this is a one time trip, we are hoping to get Ocean view. Thoughts? Thanks in advance !

We have gotten ocean view two bedrooms at Aulani twice at seven months. Once in February and once in September, and an ocean view grand villa in September. It seems the ocean views are not snatched up quickly because of Point costs.

As to room availability, you should have very good chance if seeking ocean view at that time of year and are avoiding any part of Thanksgiving week starting the Friday before Thanksgiving. Actual availability of points, if by "getting points" you mean that you intend to rent, is a different issue, but if reserving seven months out, likelihood is probably good since any resort's points can be rented for the reservation.

Do you mind sharing your room type and check in date? Curious since we're looking at next July. I would've guessed Aulani in July was pretty easy to get at 7 months outside of value/standard rooms and not around the 4th.

Thanks very much ! And I re-read my original post and thought "geez, I must have been tired" ... I changed it to read "availability". We will hopefully have enough points, and at the very least, should have enough if we use the option to top up that DVC allows. And I plan to be leaving there on the Friday before Thanksgiving at the very latest, so hopefully my decision on my cruise date was a good one !

It was 3 years ago so I don't remember the exact dates, third week of July. We booked a studio, all that was available was Ocean View. Remember, people with school aged kids vacation during the summer and almost everybody has July off. I also thought July would be an easy get but I was wrong.

Aulani at 7 months is not difficult to get, but not at 7 months and 1 day. The week we went I booked the dates I could get at Aulani and then booked the first three days at Hale Koa.

So pick your dates, find the exact 7 month mark, and book as soon as you can and you will not have a problem.

i have been tracking 7 month availability (for my own curiosity) The real tough times for Aulani are - any major holiday and the month of June. Aside from that there should be pretty good availability. Just like all other resorts the cheapest rooms will book up first so plan for possibly a higher level studio or a 1BR.

We booked a 2 BR island view at the beginning of June last summer right at the 7mo. mark. It was the last one BUT there were still ocean view rooms for several days. Since they are higher points they often hang around a little longer, but get online the moment you can, and I think you will be fine! It’s a wonderful place!
