Planning our vacation and was wondering the different transportation options and prices available from HNL to Aulani.?

We are going for our 2nd Aulani trip in April. I would suggest a car rental. We dont have to pay for parking if you are a DVC owner and its so much cheaper to be able to go out to eat and to Costco for food and drinks. This trip is a 6 day one and we found a small rental for $120/week.

You can use Cloud 9 Limo or Charley's Taxis. Cloud 9 is recommended by Aulani and offers a discount. I paid $120 each way(for a dedicated car) and they picked me up at the gate, took me to baggage claim, and waited for me to get my bags. Other people have taken Charley's Taxis, but they get mixed reviews. I believe they charge $55 each way to Aulani.

I found it cheaper to rent a car at Aulani for the days I needed it versus renting at the airport. The airport was double to triple per day what Aulani charged. Maybe find out who the PP got their deal through.

My car rental was through Hawaiian airline at the time I booked my airfare but last time got a good deal after checking hotwire, expedia and the thrifty website.

We are here now and rented an SUV through Alamo using the Costco code for $221 for the week. Our back up rental was through Discount Hawaii Car Rental. It was with Dollar for a full size for $240. -- Suzanne

We went through Alamo last spring and paid less than $200 for an SUV for 10 days. Some days we never used it but loved being able to pop out for groceries.

Awesome guys,, thanks! I will look into the rental since we need transport from the airport, grab some grocery and go out for some off resort dinners.

I'm looking for a shuttle service to/from the airport and Aulani. I will not rent a car there; the driving is far more congested than I'm use to and comfortable driving so we just want to pay for a shuttle. The problem is I've been unable to find a shuttle service with consistent good reviews. Does anyone have a suggestion from someone they used and were happy with?

We were at Aulani in January and going back in October. The roads did not have the congestion that I imagined after reading many posts. That said, we do live in a suburb of New York City, and are used to heavy traffic, but the "traffic" was always moving at 55+ MPH and not stop and go. We did not go into Honolulu at any rush hour at all, but by having a rental, we were able to sightsee the entire island, shop anytime we felt, to include running out to dinner and get snacks off site.
