I saw comments on an older post that mentioned the standard view 3-bedroom grand villa at Aulani never seemed to be available. Is this still the case?

Also, are ocean view Grand Villas usually available at the 11 month window? What about 7 month?

We are currently going through ROFR on an Aulani contract, and if ocean view is all that's available, I'll likely want to purchase more points sooner than later.

I can confirm. Looks like zero availability on Standard View but yes on Oceanview. Decent availability even within 7 months currently.

Thanks for letting me know! I'm disappointed that it's hard (maybe impossible?) to get standard view. Ocean view is a significant increase in points, so I guess I'm in the market for more points now.

On a daily basis throughout the year, the Aulani standard view GV is shown as booked full when checking right at 8 a.m. eastern at 11 months out. The ocean view GVs have never booked full right at 11-months out.

The Ocean View GVs are also usually open at 7 months out except a real risk otherwise during the highest DVC demand times of the year at Aulani -- June 7 to July 6, Christmas week, Thanksgiving week. Note that info is pre-covid. It is possible now that the Ocean GVs might fill before 7 months out at other times because of the covid-issue, in that so many members currently have a lot of extra banked points that need to be used.

Worth mentioning: there are a total of 2 Standard View GVs. There are 18 OV. So it is not just about point cost, but inventory. When there are only 2 of a unit type it is common for them to be booked at 11 months even without walking because the likelihood of it being open for any given check in date is so low.

Yeah, I totally understand that low inventory and high demand would make it hard to book, but it's odd that no one seems to be able to see any availability for these rooms anytime they've checked (not even looking for specific check in dates).

Based on everyone's responses here, I will just assume that it will not be available when we plan to visit. 😟
