Previously I posted that I would be attending DLR in June, but plans changed and we are now going in early August.

What is the weather typically like in SoCal in August?
Is it hot (humidity) sticky, and dry? Rains alot?
So far I've only found the average temperature, which was in the 80s.

I have only been to southern California once back in 2005 and it was pretty chilly. However, I was told that it had been really hot just the week before. For the most part, I think it's typically warm during that month.

We have been mid August the last few years and it has been hot and dry. We love it.

Hi all! Yes I am a newbie! Decided I should finally make myself an official dis-er since I've been "lurking" for quite some time now!:rolleyes1 Anyway, we were there with our two kiddos last August 13-15 and it was HOT! We definitely needed that mid-day break to go back to the hotel and cool off in the nice a/c! But we still had an AMAZING time despite the heat and crowds.

HOT, with no rain. It rarely rains from June to October with any significance in SoCal. :(

Count on 90s-100s during the day, but pretty dry.

It will be a dry heat, if experiencing a heat wave while there. 97.8% chance of no humidity. It is VERY rare to have humid weather, unless there is some trop storm hitting Mexico. Dry heat is more tolerable that humidity.

Remind me why I moved to Florida again? :rotfl2:

While those aren't insanely humid days...it's still humid enough for it to seem pretty hot out.

True, it probably will be hot. I am just saying it wont feel humid. I grew up in Los Angeles and now live in FL. I sure miss the hot weather there vs. here.

I pretty much hate anything over 75 degrees. Humidity or no humidity. I'm just not a fan of hot weather...haha.

Typically hot and dry during the day. Also typically much cooler at night (and damp).

Huge difference between the heat in DLR and the heat and humidity at WDW. HUGE!

I love our nights here since it almost always cools down at night. Sometimes as much as 30, or more, degrees. :goodvibes

it is hot and very, very sunny. i have pale skin and burn to a crisp very easily with our sun here. It does cool down at night, but in August, it won't be that much cooler.

I am a pale redhead. I'm all about those continuous spray sunscreens (aveeno is my favorite!) They are so easy to reapply every couple hours.
