My family and I are just starting to plan our fourth WDW trip for some time in 2005 and we are considering the third week in August. Previously, we have been there in May and June. I've read many of the guides incluodng Birnbaum's and some on-line sites as to their take on August weather and crowd levels but I'd like to read what anyone out there has experienced if they've been in August. Thanks.

We went last August and the crowds were heavy, but manageable if you know your way around. I suggest doing indoor rides during the day because it is smokin! Usually a scattered shower that lasts about 30 minutes, then the sun comes back out again. Disney Quest in the evening was just unbearable. Too many unsupervised little kids running around.

We have been to Disney a few times in late August and found the crowds manageable. The parks close a little earlier because alot of the country has already gone back to school which causes less people in the parks. We are going again this year the end of August. It does rain for an hour or 2 almost every day in the afternoon. We bring disposable ponchos and umbrellas. It is very hot so you need to slow down and drink alot of water. We have misters and fans that we carry around to help while on lines. Just use fast passes when you can and try to arrive early to the parks. We usually go back for a swim at noon and back to the parks after that....
