Check Luggage For Southwest at DVC Resort

Now with the departure service being official at the value resorts, have you heard of any rumors of the service expanding?

They are checking people’s luggage in for them and transferring it to the airport.

I’m not sure I think I read that they want to see how it will work bringing this back and wanted to start at a smaller scale. The good news is this was originally announced as POP only before expanding to all of the values

I feel like this is just adding one more group / step that can lose my luggage.

I can see how Southwest would want to offer this to the multitude of cheerleading squads that seem to travel that airline to Disney. On one round trip, my wife and I flew Southwest with three large squads down, and four coming back. If you thought they were obnoxious in the parks, imagine them on a plane! One group was freaking out that the two hour delay in the flight would cause them to only have four hours of practice that afternoon! Oh, the humanity!

Actually I do wonder. When they first tested Magic Bands back in 2013, I was staying at AKL and was part of the test. Come to think of it, I think that Pop was part of the test then too.

Really hoping RAC comes back to the rest of the resorts before my August trip. Have a late flight home and would love to get rid of my luggage haha.

This is of course...OPTIONAL

For many including myself I would love for this to return to all resorts.

This way we avoid loading it into the rental car then unloading from the rental car. Then dragging it from the rental car to the terminal. Then waiting in line to drop off the bags. Even with priority/first class lane this is a pane.

Instead I can drop off the rental car and walk straight to PreCheck with the digital boarding passes. Saves a lot of time and stress when it was offered previously.
