Ok....with the almost, for sure, free dining promo coming out on Monday DH has said yes to another trip but only for FD. The poor boy likes to eat his way through WDW.

Now my problem. Should we go in August or September? Has anyone been there in both those months? Is the weather any cooler at the end of September vs. the end of August?

We have been several times in July and August so the weather is no surprise for us. We do have a few conflicts in August so it limits our availability. That leaves September fairly open except we would have to take DD out of school, grade 5. I'm not really bothered by taking her out of school, she's an A student.

What do you think?

I say GO FOR IT!
We have taken our "A" students out of school before for our Disney trips. Shouldn't be a problem for your DD. The end of September may be a tiny wee bit cooler than the end of August. The humidity is the killer.
We were in WDW for Halloween and it was HOT!
We have a DVC membership but with the upcoming free dining promo...well....I'm dropping hints to my husband. I have to make him think the trip is his idea. LOL Wish me luck!

August can be hot. I hear the crowds in late August early September or good because everyone is back to school.

We have been in August, September and October and they can all be hot. The crowds do tend to lessen a little in September as most children are back in school.

Sept. and Oct. are usually pretty good, but it is hurricane season if that would be a concern.

We have done FD before so we are familiar with the crowd levels and the heat at that time of year. Plus a few other trips in August. As far as the F&W that's not really of interest for us.

We were just talking about how many park days we would want and I think 3 would be fine. Mainly to have TS meals inside the parks, which we have never done. We've been there enough times now that it's much more casual. We just stroll around and do what we like. No touring plans or running for the mountains at rope drop. My DD said she wants to spend a day at Epcot to see all the countries. We only did about 1/4 of WS last year. Finally the youngest is old enough to have WS be of interest.

Any suggestions for restaurants in WS? My DH will eat anything, in fact he would do very well on Survivor. I'm fairly open but DD is a little bit harder to please. I was thinking of Rose & Crown or Le Cellier but neither of them seems like something special or different. I have eaten at Le Cellier before but it was about 7 years ago.

What about MNSSHP? It starts in early September.

As for WS restaurants, it really depends on what your DD likes to eat. We enjoy Le Cellier and Biergarten. I agree that Rose and Crown is nothing special. We will likely try Teppan Edo and Chefs de France on our trip in August. I would sit down with your DD and go through the menus on wdwinfo or All Ears and see what she might like.

I'd say late Sept--August is HOT HOT HOT!

Sept is still too...but a touch cooler...and that counts!

There is just no comparing the crowds in August and September. September wins, hands down.

We always go the last week of August as our kids are older and missing school is not an option but we have friends that go the second week of September and comparing notes we always envy them.

If you don't mind taking your kids out of school (we always did up until grade 7), September is the only way to go.
